1. Pool side slides, because laces are hard:

For cold kickin' it - cocktail firmly in hand - on the beach front, stoop, pool side, backyard or whatever venue you chose to do summer in, you need an all comfort footwear option that doesn't lack on the style or sass front. Cue these slides from UNIF.

In the bay area, summer unfortunately does not usually equate to endless sun soaked days and balmy nights of running barefoot through fresh flower meadows and on soft, sandy beaches. Even in our beloved Oakland - "the sunny side of the bay" - an 80 degree day can turn into a 60 degree evening the second 5pm and that marine layer rolls around.

Having to dress for a chilly spring day with whipping winds and a cushion of fog is more aligned with what you can actually expect here June - August. So with that in mind, a pair of ankle boots that will pair seamlessly with jean shorts in the day and cuffed boyfriend jeans in the evening is necessity for our summer months. Not to mention, they'll see you through festival season with less toe trampling opportunities.

Like a lot of people, I was rocked to my core by the outcome of the recent election. A couple of weeks on, I still don't feel normal. But that is ok, I don't want to let go of that. I receive Goop newsletters and follow Goop on Twitter. Their minimal, clean and simple aesthetic speaks to the me I want to be if I wasn't the me that I actually am .  Depending on my mood I can either love or hate Goop.
